Random Here’s to Happy and Healthy… January 31, 2015 Adventures of a Labor Nurse 3493 Views 6 Comments I feel so extremely blessed to call myself a nurse. I love that as a labor nurse, we see families made in different ways every day. For any woman out there that is struggling with infertility, you are not alone! I hope that everyone gets to experience the beauty of birth and babies in one way or another. And to the women and families we serve, you deserve the happiest, healthiest pregnancy, labor, and delivery ❤ This family’s expression (at 3:30) is priceless. Their expression embodies why we nurses do what we do. The Gift of Life from Lovell Productions on Vimeo. A month ago, a good friend of mine was a surrogate and I was her doula. From the other side, the nurses made this miracle truly memorable. We, as nirses, bare our hearts daily. Such a blessing. I’ve long wanted to be a surrogate, but don’t fit the physical criteria that most surrogacy agencies are looking for. One of my favorite comments I’ve ever heard a surrogate make were was when the surrogate was asked if she found it hard to give the baby up after birth, she replied, “I’m not giving the baby up, I’m giving the baby back.” Reply
