A Virtual Hill Day Focused on Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders #AWHONN

This Wednesday, September 14th, 2016 The Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) will host its first-ever “Virtual Hill Day” with the goal of raising the visibility of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders among elected officials. facebook-timeline-b

AWHONN has developed several tools that we can use and share to help spread awareness.

  • Use this template letter, which can be sent with a few quick clicks, to Members of Congress in support of The Bringing Postpartum Depression Out of the Shadows Act.  This bill would expand access to screening and treatment services for pregnant women and new moms.
  • Use the hashtag  – #LoveAnotherMother – with the suggested Tweets below:
    • Asking #Congress to prioritize maternal mental health #LoveAnotherMother http://bit.ly/2cbnazK #AWHONN
    • Depression & anxiety = most common complications of childbirth. ALL women should be screened. #LoveAnotherMotherhttp://bit.ly/2cbnazK
    • Pregnant women & new moms need help.  Expand access to mental health services. #LoveAnotherMotherhttp://bit.ly/2cbnazK
    • @AWHONN #nurses support expanded access to mental health services for pregnant women & new moms #LoveAnotherMother http://bit.ly/2cbnazK
  • Resources for pregnant women, new moms, and clinicians who want to learn more about the issue.

Until my next delivery ❤

I want to hear what you have to say!
